A quotation appears in the beginning of her first book
“Tales of Tara-The Awakening”
that is credited to both Plato and Aristotle;
“To heal the body
you must first heal the mind”.
This is how Pam has approached healing for herself and others. ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay an introduction to metaphysical healing resonated with her and guided her journey and her holistic approach Body/Mind and Spirit.
Pamela Malloy (pen name Tara Shen) an Author, Intuitive Healer, Reiki Master, Lightworker, Oracle Card Reader, a Licensed Counselor, a Minister and an Artist.
“Tales of Tara The Awakening”, first published in 2019, is a memoir of Tara’s healing and spiritual awakening taking place in the early 1990’s. Tara’s life spinning out of control with turmoil in her present day life as she was divorcing her violent husband and her mother was dying of cancer. She begins to remember horrific abuse from her childhood, previously repressed.
Pam felt guided to return to college for a master’s degree in counseling when her children were ages 10 and 7. This goal she knew was part of her life purpose. Her soul mission became to help others who had been abused. In her own healing process Pam found that many holistic methods complimented her traditional therapy.
Artistic expression, painting, writing and movement accentuated the comprehensive synergistic healing efforts.
Before attending graduate school, Pam actively participated in women’s organizations. When her children were young, she headed a major fundraiser with the American Association of University Women, and served as Vice President of the Education Foundation providing scholarships to women. During this time, Pam became a licensed soccer coach helping with both of her children’s teams.
Pam became licensed in counseling after passing a national exam and completing 4500 hours of supervised hours of counseling. She became a member of the American Counseling Association (for 20 plus years) and in 2005 became a nationally certified counselor.
Pam became more interested in herbal remedies and found them helpful with her symptoms, as well as essential oils. In 1999, she received her first degree in Reiki attunement, and participated in reiki shares. In her journey of trauma recovery, meditation helped to ground her, acupuncture helped release negative energy and remove energy blockages. Eventually, a regular yoga practice, (several times a week) became a lifestyle.
She read extensively on these topics. In 1999, her master’s degree completed, Pam began helping survivors of abuse in a clinical setting. She connected with and joined numerous survivor’s organizations and traveled across the states to attend conferences.
As a therapist, Pam served teens and adults with issues of depression, anxiety, and compulsive behaviors. She received special training in Sand play and art therapy, sexual abuse treatment, grief work, treatment for adults of dysfunctional families, addictions, and eating disorders.
As she continued her own healing journey Pam became more drawn to mediums and communication with those who have crossed over. (ADC after death communication). Mediumship entered her sphere when she was working with survivors of 911. Pam received Level II reiki attunement and began utilizing distance healing and beaming in 2005. She completed Master Teacher certification in Reiki. (level III) in 2016. Her spiritual interest expanded to Past Life Regressions after reading “Many Lives Many Masters” by Brian Weiss MD and with trained hypnotherapists in this specialty she explored her past lives which helped to explain peaks and valleys in her life as well as fears and interests. Soul Memory Discovery fascinated her, and Pam worked with a specialist and discovered that she had been a healer in several lifetimes.

This is the story of her spirtual awakening as her repressed past surfaces and rocks her world.
